Stephanie Gordon, M.S L.Ac
Founder, Owner, Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist
Stephanie Gordon, the founder, owner and medical director of Sacred Dunes Integrative Health, is an avid supporter of the combined healing benefits of acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicine and nutrition. Her personal journey with this natural therapy began when she successfully alleviated debilitating migraines that had plagued her, after six visits with an acupuncturist.
Stephanie’s introduction to acupuncture arose while working as a birth doula and homebirth midwife assistant, seeking ways to support prenatal clients. She quickly discovered that acupuncture was not only painless but also effective for a wide range of chronic issues, both related to pregnancy and beyond. This transformative experience inspired her to pursue further education and become a licensed acupuncturist.
Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Education and a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She holds and maintains her national board certification through The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and licensure in Acupuncture through the State of Indiana. She now encompasses a holistic approach that merges Eastern and Western medical practices, allowing her patients to experience effective relief for everyday ailments. Stephanie highlights acupuncture’s versatility, showcasing it as both a standalone treatment and a valuable complement to broader health care plans.
In addition to her busy practice, Stephanie is actively involved in the Michigan City Area Chamber of Commerce. While proud to have won their small business of the year award, she has also earned Best Acupuncture and Massage clinic in La Porte County via The Herald Argus newspaper, multiple years in a row. She specializes in treating chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, complex digestive issues, women’s health, oncology, and a wide variety of internal and structural medical issues.
Stephanie’s most recent pursuit is working with La Porte County’s police, firefighters, and paramedics. She has a comprehensive understanding of how acupuncture and massage therapy help regulate the nervous system, manage stress and chronic pain. She knows that people who risk their lives daily must be decompressed, so they can continue to care for others. She is working diligently on creating a nonprofit organization called Sacred Dunes Community Outreach, to enable fundraising and grant funding to offer first responders care at a no cost or low cost to them.
